Walking is a great form of exercise.  Anyone, regardless of age and fitness level, can start a walking routine.  All you need are a sturdy pair of walking shoes and you are ready to go.   The question is where to walk?  Knoxville has a Walk Score of 40 and is labeled car-dependent which means most of us have to drive to work, errands, and for entertainment.   However, there are still fabulous places in Knoxville to walk.  Here are my Top 10 suggestions:

Crews demolish parts of Lakeshore Park

Crews demolish parts of Lakeshore Park

City of Knoxville crews were out working near Lakeshore Mental Health Institute on Thursday.

They started digging up the old swimming pool at Lakeshore Park which was used by the mental health institute.

Crews will demolish the pool house and part of the fencing along the greenway. They'll also do some maintenance work in the 110-acre park.

The park will stay open during this time, but the city asks people to be aware of the work.
