Blaze Pizza to open in Knoxville this November

Blaze Pizza has announced it will open a new location in West Knoxville this November.

Blaze Pizza is a build-it-yourself pizza joint where customers make their own pizza on an assembly line. You then send your 11-inch personal pizza to the oven to cook in about three minutes.

The 80-seat restaurant will feature an outdoor patio.

In March Business Insider named Blaze Pizza as one of 35 companies that are revolutionizing the food industry.

Former Farragut football standout killed in car crash

A former Farragut football standout was killed in a car crash on the interstate in west Knoxville.

Andre Sterling, 24, lost control of his car at the ramp from west Pellissippi Parkway to I-40 eastbound early Wednesday morning.

Over the past 24 hours, Farragut Football honored its former player, tweeting its condolences to his family.

Man killed in overnight crash on interstate ramp

A man was killed overnight when he lost control of his car on the interstate in West Knoxville.

The accident was reported at 1:11 am, according to Knoxville Police, at the ramp from west Pellissippi Parkway to I-40 east.

HGTV celebrates 20 years on the air

HGTV is celebrating a big milestone this year; the Knoxville-based cable network has been on the air for 20 years.

The channel started broadcasting to more than six million homes on Dec. 30, 1994. In the past two decades, the channel has grown to reach almost 100 million viewers and airs in 69 countries with popular shows about renovation, gardening and home design. Even with all that growth, the company has kept its headquarters in East Tennessee.

(WBIR-Farragut) A Farragut woman is looking for her soldier statue which is missing from outside her home.

Vehicle hits utility pole, kills driver in west Knox Co.

A car struck a utility pole in west Knox County Monday morning, killing its driver.

Deputies responded to Middlebrook Pike at Walden Legacy Way shortly after 6:15 a.m. Officials said the vehicle drove over a grass median and hit a utility pole head-on.

The driver was pronounced dead at Parkwest Hospital.

Authorities said alcohol was not a factor, and the driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
