News

Law enforcement is searching for a suspect who bailed out of his car Monday during a car chase with a state trooper in west Knox County.

Officials said the man is wanted by the Loudon County Sheriff's Office. Authorities don't have a detailed description of the suspect at this time, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol Lt. Don Boshears.

A state trooper spotted the suspect's vehicle on Interstate 40 in west Knox County and tried to pull the car over. The suspect's car didn't pull over, and instead exited on Watt Road and drove to a side street where he got out of the car and ran into the woods.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is searching that area with a helicopter. Deputies from the Knox County Sheriff's Office and the Loudon County Sheriff's Office are also helping with the search.
