(WBIR) A popular restaurant in Bearden will undergo renovations this November. Gourmet's Market will nearly triple the size of the main dining room.

"Gourmet's Market has a loyal following of customers," Adam Tyler, the general manager of Gourmet's Market, said in a press release.

"Over the past few years, that following has grown more rapidly than we ever expected. They pack this place out and line up outside the door to get in. We simply outgrew our dining room," said Tyler.

The renovations will also include group seating, to accommodate large groups and meetings. Tyler plans to teach cooking classes and host events more regularly, with the new facilities.

There is an open house Wednesday, November 5 to show off the holiday catering menu. That event kicks off at 5 p.m.

The restaurant plans to stay open for the duration of the renovations; they hope to be finished before the end of the year.

Regulars might recognize the name "Cosmo's Caffè" within Gourmet's Market; it was the dining room area. Going forward, the restaurant and shop area will be just known as "Gourmet's Market."

Gourmet's Market has been open in Knoxville since 1978. The combined market and dining room offer eclectic cheeses, meats and other cooking supplies. The dining room serves up locally-sourced meals.
