Toys for Tots have new warehouse for donations, distribution | News
The annual Toys-for-Tots campaign is rolling full speed ahead in Knoxville now that the Marine Corp Reserve sponsors have a warehouse.
Back in October the organizers of the campaign we not able to make arrangements to lease a building during the government shutdown.
This week they moved into a 6,000 square foot distribution center at 3501 Workman Road in West Knoxville. The location is off Middlebrook Pike.
The building will be the site where families can come register their kids and pick up the toys. The distribution dates are December 7th, 11th and 14th.
The project coordinator says the Marines are honored to be involved in the Toys-for-Tots campaign.
"It really does help us feel like we're giving something back to the community. When we're overseas and spending the holidays over there you really feel the love and support while you're there from people back home and this is a great way for the Marine Corp to give back," said Sgt. Gregory Schuster.
